The Fundamentals of Trauma-Informed Care and Recovery

This foundational training is suitable for anyone in a helping profession who wants to understand trauma better. This course is the prerequisite for therapists wanting to take the 6-day Core SITT training, and for mentors preparing to take the SITM training.

The 3-day Training

Story-Informed Trauma Mentor Training

This is the basic training for non-therapists and other helping professionals equipping them to help others understand and unpack their trauma story as Story-Informed Trauma Mentors (SITM). Those who complete this course qualify as SITM Trained. This course is one requirement for the SITM Certification.

Additional trainings that apply the SITT model to a variety of specific issues. Some are available only to Trained or Certified therapists, others are open to anyone in a helping profession, including Story-Informed Trauma Mentors.

The Fundamentals

Fundamentals of Trauma-Informed Care and Recovery

This course presents the fundamentals of trauma impact, trauma-informed care, and an overview of the path to trauma recovery. Suitable for anyone in a helping profession. This course is the prerequisite for both the 6-Day Core training for therapists and the 3-Day training for mentors..

Offered both in on-demand video form and periodically in-person or by webinar.

Mentor Basic Training

Story-Informed Trauma Mentors Basic Training

Offered over 3-days, this is basic training for anyone who wants to be equipped to help people navigate the impact of trauma in their lives, and a step toward certification as a Story-Informed Trauma Mentor. Note that Fundamentals of Trauma-Informed Care and Recovery is a required prerequisite to take this course.

Offered annually as a live online training.

Supplemental Training

The Impact of Trauma on Spiritual Formation & Development

This 5-hour video training addresses the impact of trauma on spiritual formation and religious practice. If a trauma victim is a religious person or was raised in a religious home, the trauma will have shaped their spiritual experience. This is especially true when trauma took place in a religious environment or where the perpetrator was a trusted religious leader or parent. This is a SITT supplemental and is also appropriate for pastors and other helping professionals.
